Chief, Division of Neuroanesthesia – Associate/ Full Professor

Job Summary:

The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks a highly qualified candidate for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Division of Neuroanesthesia, overseeing clinical, educational, and research activities, and mentoring faculty members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Division of Neuroanesthesia, ensuring excellence in clinical, educational, and research activities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient care, education, and research in neuroanesthesia.
  • Mentor and support faculty members in the Division, promoting their growth and development.
  • Collaborate with other leaders in the Department, Service Line, Hospital, VA, and Health System to advance the Division's mission.
  • Recruit and retain top talent in neuroanesthesia, fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.

Requirements:

  • MD or MD/PhD degree or equivalent.
  • ABA certification in anesthesiology and ability to obtain a Pennsylvania license.
  • Fellowship training in neuroanesthesia or extensive experience in neuroanesthesia.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a proven track record of success.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in academic leadership, with a focus on clinical, educational, and research activities.
  • Strong track record of publications, presentations, and other scholarly activities in neuroanesthesia.
  • Ability to secure external funding for research and educational initiatives.
