Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Danbury Hospital. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic radiographs of patients while maintaining patient safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients, introduce yourself, and verify patient identification.
  • Review patient scripts and Cerner requisitions to ensure the correct exam is being performed.
  • Acquire relevant patient history and explain procedures to patients.
  • Follow department protocols for exams and ensure patient safety and comfort.
  • Produce high-quality x-rays for interpretation by radiologists.
  • Interact professionally with patients and families.
  • Attend annual hospital reviews and departmental in-services meetings.
  • May provide clinical instruction to prospective radiographers and evaluate students' ability to perform procedures.
  • Maintain medical imaging records and ensure timely interpretation.
  • Maintain clinical competency and demonstrate proficiency in assigned patient care areas.
  • Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology or graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
  • BLS, CT State RT License, or New Graduates under CT Temporary Practice Provisions.
  • Valid ARRT and continuing education requirements.
  • Experience with patient care in a radiology setting.
Credentials
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Radiographer.
Working Conditions

This role requires significant manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity. There is a significant occupational risk, and the physical effort is very heavy, requiring exertion of up to 50 pounds of force. The physical environment may expose you to dirt, odors, noise, and human waste.
