Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team at Nuvance Health. As a key member of our radiology department, you will assist physicians in interventional procedures and take x-rays and angiographs as ordered by referring physicians under state and registry guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • Takes quality diagnostic images and verifies physicians' orders, entering patient demographics and evaluating film.
  • Assists and scrubs with radiologists, utilizing universal precautions at all times.
  • Explains procedures to patients and answers any questions.
  • Administers and records isotope dosage in accordance with established departmental protocol.
  • Observes patients during procedures and reports abnormal activity, ensuring radiation protection for patients.
  • Orders supplies and inventory, stocking all supplies on a daily basis.
  • Charts patients' accounts accurately and schedules interventional procedures.
  • Monitors radiographic quality for optimum diagnosis, ensuring all films have proper identification.
  • Performs all CME functions prior to submitting cases for dictation.
  • Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist.
  • ARRT certification, BLS, and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support - Advanced Life Support) required.
  • Scrub experience strongly preferred.
Working Conditions

This position requires significant manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity. There is a significant occupational risk, and the physical effort is very heavy, requiring the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force. The physical environment includes some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
