Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Nuvance Health. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic radiographs of patients while maintaining patient safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients, introduce yourself, and verify patient identification.
  • Review patient scripts and Cerner requisitions to ensure the appropriate exam is being performed.
  • Acquire relevant patient history for the exam being performed.
  • Explain procedures and answer patient questions regarding the test.
  • Follow department protocols for exams and ensure patient safety and comfort.
  • Shield patients according to department protocols and follow ALARA standards.
  • Produce and review high-quality x-rays for interpretation by radiologists.
  • Interact professionally with patients and families.
  • Attend annual hospital reviews and departmental in-services meetings.
  • May provide clinical instruction to prospective radiographers and evaluate their ability to perform procedures.
  • Maintain medical imaging records in accordance with department policies and standards.
  • Maintain clinical competency and demonstrate proficiency in assigned patient care areas.
  • Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
Requirements
  • BLS certification
  • CT State RT License or New Graduates under CT Temporary Practice Provisions
  • Valid ARRT certification
  • Continuing education and 24 CEU credits for license
  • Experience with patient care in a radiology setting
Working Conditions
  • Significant manual skills and motor coordination
  • Significant occupational risk
  • Very heavy effort, exerting up to 50 lbs. force
  • Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
