POSITION SUMMARY
A Cloud Solutions Architect specializing in Microsoft Azure and Databricks is tasked with the design and execution of cloud-centric solutions that align with the operational needs of the organization. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to grasp their requirements and convert them into actionable technical specifications. The architect ensures that the developed solutions are scalable, secure, and economically viable.
This position is crucial in establishing a streamlined, collaborative analytics environment that enables data scientists, data engineers, and business analysts to collectively analyze data and develop machine learning models on a unified platform. The solutions are designed to integrate seamlessly with other Azure services such as Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Power BI.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and Architecture (60%)
- Develop and implement cloud-based solutions tailored to meet organizational needs.
- Engage with stakeholders to ascertain their requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Guarantee that the solutions are scalable, secure, and cost-efficient.
Policies and Best Practices (20%)
- Promote and enforce organizational best practices, policies, and user support standards.
- Oversee the implementation of a robust information security program to safeguard cloud data.
- Ensure that all essential processes and mechanisms are established for the effective operation of the organization’s systems.
Administrative and Support (20%)
- Manage backend services including Azure cloud and Databricks.
- Develop Notebook commands and configure various workspace settings in the control plane and encrypted data at rest.
- Utilize Azure Databricks connectors to link clusters with external data sources for data ingestion or storage.
- Ingest data from diverse external streaming sources, including event data, IoT data, and more.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT development and design.
- Prior experience with cloud technologies is preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of IT operations, including networking, virtualization, identity management, security, business continuity, disaster recovery, data platforms, and governance.
- Technical expertise in designing cloud and hybrid solutions on Azure, encompassing compute, networking, storage, monitoring, and security. Relevant certifications in cloud technologies, mobile, web application development, or modern software development practices are advantageous.
