Position Overview
The Senior Microfluidics Process Engineer will be instrumental in advancing our mission to innovate in the field of tissue engineering. This role focuses on the development and implementation of effective process methodologies for the post-processing of 3D printed lung structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and establish robust processes for washing, peptide conjugation, and sterilization of large-scale 3D printed scaffolds.
- Develop assays and quality control methods to ensure the integrity and performance of the scaffolds.
- Oversee routine quality control testing of 3D printed products.
- Monitor and assess the compatibility of bioreactors and perfusion systems with post-processing techniques.
- Perform additional duties as required to support the team and organizational goals.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant industry experience in process chemistry, medical devices, or microfluidics, with a Master’s degree in a related field; or 3 years of experience with a PhD.
- Expertise in scaling chemical processes and surface chemistry.
- Prior experience in the post-processing of medical devices, including washing and coatings.
- Proficiency in UV spectroscopic methods, micro-CT, tomography, and particle size analysis.
- Experience in assay development, validation, and quality control.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to present data effectively.
- A self-motivated attitude and the capability to follow experimental protocols independently.
