Principal Structural Engineer

Position Overview
As a Senior Structural Engineer at Solvenow Inc., you will collaborate with the project team throughout the design and construction phases, adjusting structural plans to meet budgetary constraints, design requirements, and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct structural design for projects from initial concept through to final design completion.
- Review and modify production drawings for a diverse range of projects, including power generation facilities, industrial plants, healthcare buildings, educational institutions, and governmental structures.
- Design structural elements in accordance with project needs and directives from project managers.
- Utilize extensive knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, codes, and procedures relevant to the industry.
- Gather and analyze project-related data as requested by project managers.
- Update and verify corrections in drawings provided by senior engineers using various CAD software.
- Prepare information for client presentations, shop drawing evaluations, and contract management for various facility designs.
- Conduct field inspections, measurements, or calculations for both public and private sector clients.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program, or a Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering Technology with successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- A Master's degree in Structural Engineering may substitute for one year of experience.
- A minimum of three years of structural engineering experience, preferably in a consulting role.
- Successful completion of the FE or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) exam is preferred.
- Strong understanding of standard engineering techniques and practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment, demonstrating critical thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with structural analysis software (e.g., RISA 3D), AutoCAD, ETABS, SAFE, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools such as Revit and Tekla.
- Exceptional attention to detail, along with strong facilitation, teamwork, collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
