The Principal Engineer is a key member of the Clark Regional Wastewater District team, responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and implementation of wastewater treatment and transmission systems. This role requires a strong background in engineering principles, project management, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement long-range capital plans for wastewater treatment and transmission systems
- Coordinate the development and implementation of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP)
- Supervise and manage a team of engineers and technicians responsible for designing, building, and maintaining wastewater treatment and transmission systems
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to district staff and external stakeholders on wastewater treatment and transmission systems
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, contractors, and community groups
- Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related field
- 6+ years of experience in wastewater treatment and transmission systems, including project management and leadership
- Registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Washington
- Valid driver's license
The Principal Engineer works primarily in an office setting, with occasional field visits and work outdoors. The role requires a high degree of concentration and analytical thinking, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
