Job Summary

This position is in the Transmission Project Engineering (TELP) team at Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). As a Civil/Mechanical Engineer, you will serve as the principal engineer and technical authority on transmission line project engineering.

Responsibilities
  • Independently plan, design, and execute complex civil/mechanical engineering projects from conception to completion.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to complete assignments and facilitate project accomplishment.
  • Participate in the review and revision of standards for transmission design based on technology and materials changes.
  • Provide technical expertise and consultation to senior leadership on project engineering matters.
  • Coordinate the maintenance, revision, and reviews of standards and criteria used in transmission facility design.
  • Evaluate major interagency projects and implement national level guidance on electrical power system operations.
  • Lead interagency and intra-agency committees to resolve critical problems in existing systems and programs.
Requirements

A bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution is required. Current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) is also required. At least one year of specialized experience in applying advanced civil/mechanical engineering project management principles is necessary.
