Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in the Telemedicine department at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As an LPN in this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care through the use of video-conferencing technologies. Key Responsibilities- Accurately report and record all patient screens, medical histories, medication reconciliation, clinical reminders, and health information in the patient record.
- Facilitate the clinical, business, and technical aspects of telehealth applications through the use of video-conferencing technologies.
- Orient patients to the telehealth process and equipment, and assist with the telehealth visit during the diagnostic interview, exam, and follow-up plans.
- Prepare patients and the telehealth room with the appropriate equipment and supplies, and establish the video conferencing connection with the provider's location.
- Learn, maintain, and demonstrate competencies necessary for assisting with all procedures, physical exams, and equipment necessary to carry out all duties related to telehealth clinics.
- Accurately document and follow policy and procedures, and perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned specific to the unique workload and staffing demands of the specialty medicine unit.
- Cross-train to and support all other specialty medicine specialties and nursing clinics.
- Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by the appropriate State agency and/or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing.
- Full, active, current, and unrestricted licensure as a licensed practical or vocational nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or District of Columbia.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- 3 to 5 years of outpatient nursing experience and telemedicine experience is preferred, but not required.
Monday-Friday, Day Shift. Hours are 7:30am - 4:00pm or, 8:00am - 4:30pm.
Benefits- Competitive salary and regular salary increases.
- Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time off per year, 13 days of sick leave, and 11 paid Federal holidays per year.
- Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior work experience or military service experience.
- After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
- After 60 days of employment, full-time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum.
