Position Overview:

The Facilities Maintenance and Recycling Specialist plays a crucial role in upholding our environmental standards and ensuring the safety and functionality of our facilities. This position involves managing our recycling initiatives and performing essential maintenance tasks across our properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, categorize, and process recyclable materials efficiently.
  • Transport recyclables using company vehicles and ensure proper loading for transportation.
  • Operate recycling machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Distribute and maintain recycling bins throughout the property.
  • Provide training and support to team members regarding recycling protocols.
  • Document and report on recycling activities and materials processed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct general maintenance tasks, including painting, repairs, and upkeep of facilities.
  • Utilize hand and power tools for various maintenance projects.
  • Assist in seasonal preparations and facility closures.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and provide assistance in a professional manner.
  • Adhere to established safety procedures when using tools and equipment.
  • Be flexible to work additional shifts and assist in other departments as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Experience in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry tasks.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Trustworthy and responsible with company resources.
  • Physical capability to perform manual tasks and lift heavy items.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and understand instructions.
  • Capable of standing and walking on various surfaces for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb and navigate stairs and ladders.
  • Manual dexterity for tool use and maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds regularly.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in facilities maintenance is advantageous.
  • Training in painting, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry is a plus.
