About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Houghton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. As a key member of our dietary services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by providing high-quality food services.

Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Preparation: Assist in planning and preparing menus that meet the dietary needs of our residents, adhering to sanitary regulations and guidelines.
  • Food Service Operations: Coordinate food service production to ensure timely and efficient meal preparation, presentation, and service.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in inventorying and storing food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring that all items are properly stored, covered, and dated.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to policies and procedures for sanitation, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless dietary services and support the overall mission of Houghton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; 1 year of dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to cook a variety of foods in large quantities, maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, and the appearance of dietary service areas, and perform regular inspections for sanitation, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties.
