Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Store Protection Specialist to join our team at Ross Stores. As a Store Protection Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our customers and associates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintaining a Safe and Secure Environment:
    • Ensure the safety and security of customers and associates by being visible and approachable at all times.
    • Monitor the store's entrances and exits to prevent theft and maintain a secure environment.
    • Remove clutter and ensure safe and clear egress to emergency exits.
  • Providing Excellent Customer Service:
    • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving issues in a friendly and courteous manner.
    • Treat all customers and associates with respect and professionalism.
  • Mitigating Theft and Fraud:
    • Monitor the store's sales floor and entrances for potential theft and suspicious behavior.
    • Identify and report theft indicators and use internal or external intelligence to impact shortage trends.
  • Minimizing Operational Shortage:
    • Train and educate associates on shortage reduction initiatives and effective processes to minimize operational shortage.
    • Observe and validate proper checkout procedures for customers and associates.
Requirements
  • Education: High school education or equivalent required, AA degree preferred.
  • Experience: One year retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred, one year loss prevention/security training preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to build and maintain relationships with the store team, excellent customer service skills, and proven ability to effectively resolve conflict.
Physical Requirements
  • Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
  • Must be able to raise or lower objects more than 25 lbs., from one level to another.
