Job Title: Policy Analyst, Defense Policy Job Summary: The Heritage Foundation seeks a highly skilled Policy Analyst to join our team. As a Policy Analyst, you will be responsible for managing, synchronizing, and producing the Index of U.S. Military Strength and conservative Defense Budget. You will develop and manage master production schedules, coordinate content delivery from internal and external authors, and create innovative graphics to disseminate our signature products. Key Responsibilities: * Manage and lead all aspects of the Index of U.S. Military Strength and conservative Defense Budget development * Coordinate with multiple authors for new and updated content * Provide quality control and review of all content to ensure high research standards * Coordinate authors and reviewers, preparing contracts and documents for accountability * Research and write high-quality papers, reports, and commentary on military cybersecurity, the Coast Guard, and the Defense Industrial Base * Serve as the lead for wargames and simulations * Organize and participate in internal and external events, meetings, and conferences Requirements: * Master's Degree in a related field * 3-5 years of experience in public policy * Excellent writing and speaking skills * Knowledge of digital editing preferred * Microsoft Suite Other Requirements: * Understand and support the Heritage mission and vision * Promote policies consistent with Heritage's priorities * Work effectively with others to meet deadlines * Exceptional organizational, planning, teamwork, and interpersonal skills Benefits and Salary: The Heritage Foundation offers a competitive benefits package, including best-in-class health care, vision, and dental insurance, employer-sponsored retirement funding, and paid leave for new parents. The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $84,500 annually.
