Job Summary

RAND is seeking a highly skilled Defense Policy Analyst to join our team of experts in national security and defense policy analysis. As a key member of our team, you will apply your analytical skills to inform policy decisions on military and homeland security operations, programs, and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of policy problems related to national and international security, using quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • Develop and communicate policy recommendations to decision-makers, using clear and effective communication skills.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to analyze complex policy issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in national security and defense policy, and apply this knowledge to inform your analysis and recommendations.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in political science, international studies, strategic studies, public policy, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in security, defense, or intelligence policy planning and analysis, preferably with the US government.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • A strong commitment to RAND's core values of quality and objectivity.

  • A competitive salary range of $52,000 - $143,900, depending on experience and qualifications.
