Case Manager, Student Counseling

Job Summary:

The Case Manager, Student Counseling will provide case management and coordination of care between campus and community resources to minimize the impact of mental illness or emotional distress on students' academic and personal pursuits. This role also involves crisis intervention, individual counseling, and consultation and psychological programming for Lindenwood University students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate on the Leo Cares team, coordinating referrals between the Student Counseling Resource Center (SCRC), the Leo Cares team, and community providers to establish best standards of care services for students in need.
  • Direct and refer students to mental health care services in the community when higher levels of mental health treatment or services are needed.
  • Meet with students upon return from higher levels of mental health treatment and assist students with care coordination; monitor and follow up with students who have unique mental health concerns that require coordination of care.
  • Provide culturally-sensitive, individual counseling to a diverse student body that presents with a variety of challenges including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, substance use, eating disorders, trauma, suicidal ideation, and academic/family-related stressors.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community mental health providers and other support networks; develop and update a database of referral and community resources.
  • Supervise graduate interns.
  • Assist the SCRC director with overseeing the administration of personnel management policies and procedures.
  • Maintain data on the amount of usage per term.
  • Maintain an active role in the development and implementation of the SCRC's strategic planning, objectives, and goals, as well as those for the Student Life and Diversity, as needed.
  • Assist with strategically marketing the SCRC to students, faculty, and staff.
Requirements:
  • Masters degree in counseling, clinical psychology, social work, or mental health counseling.
  • Licensed or license eligible.
  • Minimum of 2 years' full-time professional, post-master's experience in providing psychological services (individual and group) in a higher education counseling center setting.
Work Environment:

General office setting. Evening and weekend availability may be required. Non-Standard Flex.
