Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Claims Adjuster II or III to join our team at Farmers Insurance. As a Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for inspecting and appraising damaged property and vehicles, determining claims-related damage, and negotiating settlements with customers and repair facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and appraise damaged property and vehicles using claims estimating software
  • Determine claims-related damage and negotiate settlements with customers and repair facilities
  • Review and adjust estimates from repair facilities, either direct repair or non-direct repair, and subrogation claims
  • Negotiate settlement and manage rental on assigned claims
  • Work independently and/or collaboratively with Claim Owners to investigate coverage and liability on a case-by-case basis

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred or an automotive-related Associate of Applied Science degree from an accredited technical college
  • 12 months of previous APD estimating experience required or consistent demonstration of technical proficiency
  • Proficient negotiating skills, in-person interpersonal and communication skills, and computer skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of body and mechanical repair/replace operations
  • Proficient conflict resolution and critical thinking skills
