POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a full-time Procurement Specialist to become a vital part of our Purchasing Department. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage the ordering and receiving of food and beverage supplies, reconcile requisitions and purchase orders, and oversee the storage and handling of both perishable and non-perishable items. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient delivery and management of products to the club.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure all products are received, dated, and rotated properly, adhering to health code standards while utilizing the procurement system effectively.
• Report any receiving discrepancies to the Director of Purchasing.
• Inform the culinary team of any shortages or changes in product availability.
• Maintain product organization and storage in compliance with safe handling procedures, ensuring cleanliness and order in work areas, and assisting with monthly inventory counts.
• Foster positive relationships with internal teams, external customers, and vendors to guarantee high-quality product procurement.
• Adjust invoices as necessary and communicate updates to vendors and the Director of Purchasing.
• Collaborate with the Director of Purchasing on monthly inventory management.
• Supervise storeroom operations in the absence of the Director of Purchasing.
• Adhere to safe work practices to prevent injuries.
• Manage special projects as assigned by the Director of Purchasing.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in warehouse management, food storeroom, or hospitality preferred.
• Valid NYS driver's license required for vehicle operation.
• Experience in food and beverage services is advantageous.
• Strong organizational and efficiency skills.
• Safety-conscious with a friendly demeanor.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong reasoning and decision-making abilities.
• Team-oriented with a commitment to completing daily tasks diligently.
• Flexibility to accommodate scheduling needs.
• Compliance with club grooming and uniform policies.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and basic mathematics.
• Attention to detail with the ability to work at a fast pace and follow instructions accurately.
• Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills for professional interactions.
• Physical capability to stand, walk, lift, and move items weighing up to 60 lbs. regularly.
• Willingness to work in various temperature environments, including kitchens and storage areas.

COMPENSATION

Hourly wage ranges from $19.00 to $21.00, based on experience.
