ABOUT THIS ROLE
We are seeking a full-time Procurement Specialist to enhance our Purchasing Department. The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for ordering and receiving food and beverage supplies, reconciling requisitions and Purchase Orders, and managing the storage and handling of both perishable and non-perishable items. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient delivery and management of products to the club, collaborating closely with the Director of Purchasing to maintain established par levels.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure all products are received, dated, and stored according to health regulations, utilizing the Cedar Creek procurement system effectively.
- Report any receiving discrepancies to the Director of Purchasing.
- Inform the culinary team of any shortages or changes in product availability.
- Maintain product organization and cleanliness in storage areas, assisting with monthly inventory checks.
- Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring high-quality product delivery.
- Adjust invoices as necessary and communicate changes to vendors and the Director of Purchasing.
- Coordinate monthly inventory processes with the Director of Purchasing.
- Supervise storeroom attendants and operations in the absence of the Director of Purchasing.
- Adhere to safety protocols to prevent workplace injuries.
- Manage special projects as assigned by the Director of Purchasing.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in warehouse, food storeroom, or hospitality preferred.
- Valid NYS driver's license required for vehicle operation.
- Experience in food and beverage services is advantageous.
- Strong organizational and efficiency skills.
- Safety-conscious and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent reasoning and decision-making capabilities.
- Team-oriented with a commitment to completing daily tasks.
- Flexibility to accommodate scheduling needs.
- Compliance with grooming and uniform standards.
- Proficient in basic math and communication skills in English.
- Physical ability to lift and move boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Willingness to work in various environments, including kitchens and storage areas.
COMPENSATION
Hourly wage ranges from $19.00 to $21.00, based on experience.
