ABOUT THIS ROLE

We are seeking a full-time Procurement Specialist to become an integral part of our Purchasing Department. The primary responsibility of the Procurement Specialist is to manage the ordering and receiving of food and beverage supplies, reconcile requisitions and purchase orders, and oversee the storage and handling of both perishable and non-perishable goods. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient delivery and management of these products within the club.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure that all products are received, dated, and stored in compliance with health regulations, utilizing the procurement system effectively.
• Alert the Purchasing Director regarding any issues encountered during the receiving process.
• Communicate with the culinary team regarding product shortages or changes.
• Maintain product organization and cleanliness in storage areas, adhering to safe handling procedures and assisting with monthly inventory counts.
• Foster positive relationships with internal teams, external customers, and vendors to guarantee high-quality product availability.
• Adjust invoices as necessary and communicate updates to vendors and the Purchasing Director.
• Collaborate with the Purchasing Director on monthly inventory management.
• Supervise storeroom operations in the absence of the Purchasing Director.
• Practice safe work habits to ensure personal and team safety.
• Manage special projects as assigned by the Purchasing Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in warehouse, food storeroom, or hospitality preferred.
• Valid NYS driver's license required for vehicle operation.
• Previous experience in food and beverage sectors preferred.
• Strong organizational and efficiency skills.
• Safety-conscious with a friendly demeanor.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong reasoning and decision-making abilities.
• Team-oriented with a commitment to completing daily responsibilities.
• Flexibility to accommodate scheduling needs.
• Adherence to grooming and uniform standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and basic math.
• High attention to detail with the ability to work at a fast pace and follow instructions accurately.
• Fluent in English, with strong communication skills for professional interactions.
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Ability to work in various temperature environments, including kitchens and storage areas.

COMPENSATION

Hourly pay ranges from $19.00 to $21.00, based on experience.
