Production Lead Position at PLI Cards

Role Summary: The Production Lead is responsible for managing and directing the daily activities within the manufacturing environment, ensuring minimal material waste and addressing quality control issues across all shifts. This position will work closely with the Production Manager to provide daily direction to Shift Supervisors and will play a key role in all facets of card production. Collaboration with various departments is essential to fulfill customer product requirements and to resolve any issues related to defective products.

Shift Timing: 2:20 PM - 10:50 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate team activities in card production.
  • Manage daily production timelines across all manufacturing processes, ensuring effective communication with shift supervisors for off-shift operations.
  • Work with maintenance teams to schedule necessary equipment upkeep and repairs.
  • Identify and resolve quality and operational issues during production and inspection phases.
  • Monitor raw material inventory and initiate orders for processing through accounts payable.
  • Analyze production waste to promote efficient material utilization.
  • Conduct inventory counts for raw materials and work-in-progress items at month-end as required.
  • Perform basic HR functions such as approving leave requests and conducting employee performance reviews.
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership development, managing multiple teams across shifts, and implementing process enhancements.
  • Preferred experience in the Printing and Finishing sector.
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Strong skills in prioritization and deadline management.
  • Experience supervising large teams of 50 or more personnel.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient organizational and computer skills.

Physical Demands:

This role requires the ability to speak, hear, stand, walk, grasp, perform fine manipulation, reach, and lift weights frequently up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. The position also involves pushing and pulling loads using a pallet jack, adjusting focus, and distinguishing colors.

Work Environment:

The work environment may vary in indoor temperature, includes moving machinery, and may involve occasional exposure to hazardous materials with appropriate safety measures. Employees may encounter minimal chemical odors and paper dust, and must be prepared to respond to emergencies in a moderately noisy setting.
