Job Summary

Tesoro Group is seeking an experienced Land Surveyor Team Lead to join their team in Austin, TX. As a key member of the Land Development group, you will be responsible for leading a survey crew and providing technical expertise to internal and external clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a survey crew and provide technical expertise to internal and external clients.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and ensure quality management practices are followed.
  • Field layout for construction purposes and collect necessary field data to process ALTAs, boundary, and design surveys.
  • Use line coding systems, including Westwood design, and understand and interpret construction plans.
  • Operate Trimble GPS, Trimble robotic total stations, and differential leveling equipment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and work proactively with coworkers and contractors to maximize efficiency and project performance.
Requirements
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving history are required.
  • Ability to effectively lead a survey crew and train/mentor survey crew members.
  • Must be able to operate a total station and GPS in both static and RTK modes surveying activities pertaining to control networks, boundaries, ALTA's, topography, and construction staking.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to perform tasks with a high degree of independence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • An associate degree in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related area of study.
  • Experience with land development, commercial and residential projects, and public infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to search for/recover Public Land Survey System monuments.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $52,000 - $62,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, Tesoro Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
