Job Summary:

As a Pediatric Neurology Physician Assistant at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic medical setting. Under the supervision of a physician, you will be responsible for providing treatment, referrals, and follow-up care to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough health histories and physical exams to diagnose and develop treatment plans for patients.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic laboratory tests and radiological tests, including special testing such as CTs, MRIs, ultrasound, and contrast studies with physician approval.
  • Formulate and carry out treatment plans, prescribing medication in accordance with state licensing laws.
  • Refer cases to immediate supervising physicians when patient conditions are complicated or exceed the Physician Assistant's limit of care or level of training.
  • Provide emergency care to prevent loss of life, limb, or eyesight, and institute emergency procedures in accordance with level of training.
  • Support clinic function by participating in policy development, operational improvement, and the implementation of policies and improvements.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a Physician Assistant program approved by an accredited medical body.
  • Experience: No previous experience required.
  • Licensures: NCCPA certification and current Physician Assistant licensure in South Carolina.
  • Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge of a wide variety of medical conditions/diseases/types of injuries; excellent communication skills.
