Key Responsibilities- Conduct Comprehensive Patient Assessments: Conduct thorough medical history reviews, physical examinations, and neurological evaluations to identify patient needs and develop effective treatment plans.
- Develop and Implement Treatment Plans: Collaborate with supervising physicians to develop and implement patient treatment plans, focusing on neurology, pain management, and internal medicine.
- Order and Interpret Diagnostic Tests: Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including MRIs, CT scans, and laboratory tests, to inform patient care and treatment decisions.
- Provide Patient Education: Educate patients regarding medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures to empower them to take an active role in their healthcare.
- Maintain Accurate Medical Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with state regulations and office policies.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, therapists, and pharmacists, to optimize patient care and outcomes.
- Participate in Quality Improvement Activities: Participate in continuous quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Stay Current with Medical Developments: Stay abreast of developments in neurology, pain management, and internal medicine through ongoing education and professional development.
- Education and Certification: Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program and current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in South Carolina.
- Certification and Experience: Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and previous experience in neurology, pain management, or internal medicine preferred.
- Clinical Skills and Interpersonal Abilities: Excellent clinical skills, including the ability to perform thorough physical examinations and interpret diagnostic tests accurately, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to Patient-Centered Care: Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care and a willingness to work independently and make sound clinical decisions under the supervision of a physician.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and a willingness to participate in continuing education and maintain licensure and certification requirements.
