POSITION OVERVIEW:

This role is integral to the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Enterprise SATCOM Gateway Services (ESGS), delivering continuous technical and operational assistance to tactical users interfacing with DoD Gateway infrastructures. The individual will engage with a highly intricate IP-Based SATCOM network and will be designated as 'mission essential', prepared to support varying shifts of 12, 10, or 8 hours depending on operational needs and resource availability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide IP network assistance, including the setup of switches, routers, firewalls, and voice communication devices.
  • Administer IP satellite modem operations, including the configuration and distribution of option/boot files.
  • Collaborate with DoD SATCOM Gateway facilities and deployed personnel to diagnose and rectify SATCOM and IP network challenges.
  • Facilitate remote access and de-access for users into the IP/SATCOM networks.
  • Ensure that equipment is functioning within the established baseline configuration and respond to alerts as required.
  • Remotely deliver global equipment configurations at DoD SATCOM Gateways using the Satellite Access Authorization (SAA) and Gateway Access Authorization (GAA).
  • Employ ticketing systems to assist in tracking and resolving customer issues across all facets of the network critical to our client's Baseband, IF, and RF Communications.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma with 2-4 years of pertinent experience.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Possession of DoD 8570, IAT Level II (SEC+ or equivalent) Certification.
  • Minimum Secret clearance is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Intermediate experience in IP/Networking, including hands-on configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, and IP Modems.
  • Intermediate knowledge of voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) gateways, call management systems, performance enhancing proxies (PEP), and telephony solutions.
  • Basic understanding and experience with the operation/configuration of MILSATCOM encryption devices.
  • Basic understanding and experience in the implementation and delivery of DISN services (VoIP, VoSIP, VTC, NIPR, SIPR).
  • Basic understanding and experience with Satellite Communications (SATCOM) architecture and signal flow.
  • Utilization of SAA/GAAs as foundational documentation for network configuration.
  • Capability to manage IP over SATCOM networks using iDirect or similar FM-TDMA hubs.
  • CCNA/CCNP certifications are advantageous.
