Title: Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Reliability Engineering and Retail Payments)
Location: Fully Remote
Duration: 6-month contract (Potential extension to 18 months or conversion to FTE with strong performance)

Job Overview:
  • We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) dedicated to maintaining the reliability, availability, and performance of our production systems.
  • In this role, you will collaborate with various development and engineering teams to create and implement tools and processes that automate deployment, observability, and troubleshooting of our applications and infrastructure.
  • The ideal candidate will possess expertise and professional experience in the essential functions of Site Reliability Engineering, including deployments, observability, monitoring, telemetry, and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of our production systems as we scale.
  • Develop and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to promptly detect and respond to incidents.
  • While there is no on-call rotation, you may occasionally support planned deployment rollouts that require working outside of standard hours.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strategize and execute scaling initiatives.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of processes, procedures, and technical configurations.
Required Qualifications:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with peers, technical leads, project managers, and product owners.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with customers and cross-functional teams to design, test, and validate deliverables that meet or exceed expectations.
  • Self-motivated and organized individual.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Over 5 years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer.
  • Strong proficiency with automation tools and scripting in Python.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like Azure or AWS.
  • Proficient in monitoring and logging tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk.
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and systems administration.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Availability to work core hours PST.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with distributed systems and supporting large-scale retail operations.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
  • Experience with incident ticketing systems such as ServiceNow and Jira for tracking tasks.
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps principles.
