Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kitchen Lead to join our team at Whitsons Culinary Group. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and serving of nutritious meals to students in a safe and healthful manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily kitchen operations to ensure compliance with portioning, plate presentation, and quality guidelines.
  • Develop and implement efficient cooking schedules to meet meal serving deadlines, including batch cooking and temperature control.
  • Prepare and submit food and paper orders according to menu and production logs, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Conduct temperature checks during meal periods to ensure food is served hot, and log results in temperature logs.
  • Follow sanitation requirements and implement cleaning schedules for all kitchen areas and equipment, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining production records and temperature logs, and perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent, with a minimum of 1 year of professional culinary experience.
  • Servsafe certification and ability to speak and read English fluently.
  • Proficiency in recipe procedures and cooking techniques, with a strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds, and stand for long periods of time in a kitchen environment.
Work Environment

The work environment is primarily in the kitchen and on the serving line, with moderate to loud noise levels and exposure to extreme temperatures. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain a positive and professional image at all times.
