Job Title: Sous Chef

Compass Group Careers is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary department, you will be responsible for the successful operation of our kitchen, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account
  • Assist the Executive Chef in planning and creating menus that meet the needs of our clients
  • Produce and execute catering events that exceed our clients' expectations
  • Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with our marketing and culinary teams

Requirements:

  • A.S. or equivalent experience in culinary arts or a related field
  • Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending on formal degree or training
  • Catering experience a plus
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience highly desirable
  • Institutional and batch cooking experiences helpful
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Must be experienced with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and the Internet
  • Must be willing to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities
  • ServSafe certified highly desirable
