The ASPCA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the planning, organization, and development of housekeeping, repairs, and maintenance operations at our 92nd Street, 91st Street, and 8th Avenue locations. This role will be responsible for managing a union custodial staff, staff development, emergency response, supply ordering, inventory control, vendor management, and repairs and maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Housekeeping and Maintenance: Oversee daily operations, maintenance, and housekeeping efforts at assigned ASPCA locations, including animal spaces, outdoor spaces, conference rooms, public and general areas.
- Repairs and Maintenance: Ensure all planned preventive maintenance is completed in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner, manage contractors, and troubleshoot building system failures.
- Department and People Management: Provide direct supervision of union team members, enforce governing policies, and perform duties associated with being a time tracking coordinator.
- Administrative: Utilize and manage the work order system, manage supply orders and inventory, and assist the Director in monitoring and maintaining operating budgets.
- Emergency Management: Provide 24/7 emergency on-call service, send out communications to stakeholders, and participate in overnight stays during shelter in place situations or inclement weather.
- Minimum of five years' practical experience in Facilities Management with direct oversight of housekeeping operations and repairs and maintenance.
- Minimum of five years' experience managing housekeeping and repairs and maintenance staff.
- Experience working supervising union staff and managing facilities operations in health care and/or animal shelter settings.
- Intermediate computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Suite.
- Knowledge of building systems, governing codes, and rules for building compliance.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with emphasis on time management.
- Able to effectively communicate professionally in both written and verbal forms with all levels of staff and members of the public.
- Bachelor's degree or Trade School diploma in a concentration related to Facilities Operations.
- Driver's License.
- OSHA General Industry 30-hour certificate.
- S-12 City Wide Sprinkler Systems Certificate of Fitness.
- F-01 City Wide Fire Guard for Impairment Certificate of Fitness.
- S-95 Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems Certificates of Fitness.
- F-07 Fire and Emergency Drill Conductor Certificate of Fitness.
- G-46 Storage, Handling, Use and Refilling of Non-Flammable Compressed Gas Certificate of Fitness.
- G-71 - Supervision of Piped Non-Flammable Medical Gases.
- C-92 Supervision of Flammable/combustible Liquids.
- A-35 To operate and maintain air compressors.
