Position Overview

Sign-On Bonus: $300.00

Join our team and receive a $150 bonus upon your start, with an additional $150 bonus after three months of service.

The Capital District YMCA is on the lookout for Full-Time Senior Educators for our Early Learning Center.

As a Senior Educator, you will create a nurturing and developmentally appropriate educational environment in the classroom, utilizing engaging methods such as storytelling, games, and hands-on activities. Your role will focus on delivering a high-quality experience for both children and their families, fostering achievement, belonging, and strong relationships among peers and within families.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess one of the following:

  • AAS in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field with no prior experience
  • Child Development Associate Credential with one year of relevant experience
  • 9 college credits in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field with two years of direct experience with children

Experience working with diverse populations is essential. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to cultivate positive, authentic relationships with individuals from various backgrounds.

Previous experience in a developmental setting with children is preferred.

All candidates must submit a NYS Medical Statement of Childcare Staff Form, verifying physician clearance to work in a childcare environment, along with a TB Test that meets Health and Social Service requirements.

Completion of Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff, CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens training is required within 30 days of hire.

Certifications: All relevant certifications, diplomas, and credentials must be provided in the documents section for consideration.
