Join the State of Delaware team as a Network Systems Administrator II-IV, providing critical IT support to ensure seamless operations across the organization. This part-time, casual/seasonal role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and develop your skills in network administration, customer service, and technical problem-solving.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in computer data networks, with experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving complex network issues. Proficiency in installing, testing, and configuring computer data networks, as well as knowledge of network design and project management, is also essential.

As a Network Systems Administrator II-IV, you will be responsible for:

  1. Administering computer data networks, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving network issues.
  2. Installing, testing, and configuring computer data networks, including associated wiring and network-dependent devices and infrastructure components.
  3. Providing customer service through a central service desk/help desk function, resolving or ensuring resolution of problem diagnosis/assessment and repairs.
  4. Maintaining databases of user problems and resolutions.
  5. Performing routine network systems administration, including addition/deletion of users and hardware/software, defining access rights, implementing and ensuring compliance with security procedures and policies, purchasing hardware/software through state contracts, and planning and implementing desktop computer migration.
  6. Advising and training users on the operation and capabilities of hardware and application software.
  7. Planning, scheduling, installing, and testing software updates and hardware upgrades, conducting needs analysis of equipment, software, network security, budget, disaster recovery concerns, training, and equipment resources to plan and recommend network changes in ways that meet program goals.

This role will work on a part-time basis, with one person working Monday to Friday, 8am-2pm, and the other working Monday to Friday, 11am-4:30pm. The location will be determined based on operational need and space availability.

The estimated salary range for this position is $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

  • Knowledge of network design or redesign.
  • For level III, at least two years of experience administering computer data networks.
  • For level III, at least two years of experience installing, testing, and configuring computer data networks.
  • For level IV, at least three years of experience administering computer data networks.
  • For level IV, at least three years of experience installing, testing, and configuring computer data networks.
  • For level IV, six months of experience in computer data network design or redesign.
  • For level IV, knowledge of information technology project management.
