POSITION SUMMARY
The role involves the meticulous cleaning and preparation of medical instruments and equipment. Responsibilities include decontaminating tools, assembling sterilization trays, and ensuring that all instruments are properly processed for safe use.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Thoroughly cleans and disinfects instruments, trays, and equipment.
- Receives and processes contaminated instruments post-procedure, ensuring they are manually washed and placed in the washer/disinfector.
- Assembles instrument trays according to specified count sheets following the decontamination process.
- Wraps and prepares instruments and trays for sterilization, ensuring proper techniques are used.
- Operates sterilization equipment to prepare instruments for immediate clinical use.
- Assists in conducting chemical and biological monitoring, maintaining accurate documentation of all tests performed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferred: 6 months of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Certification as an Instrument Technician is required.
