Position Summary:

The Logistics Coordinator II is responsible for inspecting incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring that all records such as manifests, invoices, or orders are accurate. This role involves documenting shipment details including weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting and recordkeeping purposes. The Logistics Coordinator II will oversee daily service requests and ensure their timely completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare necessary documentation including work orders and bills of lading.
  • Communicate with representatives to resolve any issues.
  • Package, seal, label, and affix postage for materials destined for transport.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, or postage meters as required.
  • Coordinate with carrier representatives to arrange transportation.
  • Accurately receive materials from vendors, customers, or other warehouses.
  • Verify the quantity and description of received materials against packing lists.
  • Inspect incoming shipments, reject damaged items, and report discrepancies.
  • Organize materials in designated storage areas systematically.
  • Label materials appropriately and mark information on containers.
  • Operate lift trucks or hand trucks to move materials to appropriate locations.
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, documenting any shortages or damages.
  • Maintain an inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Perform computer functions necessary for tracking goods.
  • Support the shipment of produced goods and received supplies for production/storage.
  • Arrange for carrier pickups as specified in customer orders.
  • Report defective materials or issues to the department supervisor.
  • Ensure an adequate supply of shipping materials is maintained.
  • Keep the work area and equipment clean and orderly, adhering to safety regulations.
  • Conduct pickups and deliveries for parts and raw materials using a company vehicle.
  • Process domestic and international shipments with appropriate documentation.
  • Respond promptly to internal inquiries regarding shipments and processes.
  • Train new associates on departmental processes and standard operating procedures.

The employee must be able to remain stationary for 40% of the time and occasionally move about the office to access necessary equipment. The role involves operating office machinery and frequently moving boxes weighing up to 50lbs.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • 1-5 years of relevant experience.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with standard warehouse procedures.
  • Proficient in reading and writing English, following verbal instructions, and performing basic math.
  • Experience with forklifts and pallet jacks is a plus.
  • Knowledge of shipping software such as FedEx Ship Manager and UPS WorldShip.
  • Understanding of LTL and truckload shipping processes.
  • Familiarity with hazmat shipping regulations.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Prior experience in shipping and receiving is essential.
