Join Our Team

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural/Bridge Engineer with 5-10 years of experience in bridge design to join our dynamic transportation team. In this position, you will play a crucial role in the structural design and analysis of bridges, including the preparation of construction documents, project specifications, and cost estimates. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams on projects involving bridge, roadway, and traffic design will be essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and preparation of contract plans and specifications, ensuring quality, thoroughness, and adherence to budgets and timelines.
  • Explore and analyze various design options.
  • Maintain organized documentation of design calculations and project data.
  • Conduct load ratings analysis.
  • Calculate quantities and develop cost estimates.
  • Provide office support for construction services.
  • Collaborate with contractors and consultants to create demolition and erection plans, temporary sheeting, cofferdam designs, and supports.
  • Review shop drawing submissions.
  • Address contractor inquiries during construction phases.
  • Serve as task manager and/or Engineer of Record.
Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • At least 5 years of relevant bridge design experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania.
  • Proven experience in designing basic bridges, including concrete structures and retaining walls.
  • Familiarity with Bentley MicroStation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with PennDOT design, rating, and inspection programs, as well as engineering design software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in civil or structural engineering.
  • Experience with advanced bridge design techniques (e.g., steel girders, steel substructures).
  • Completion of NHI Course Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges and current on NHI Course 130053A Bridge Inspection Refresher Training (if applicable).
  • Familiarity with advanced structural software (CSiBridge, Midas, STAAD, SAP, etc.).
