POSITION OVERVIEW:

Role Summary:
Evaluates nursing requirements and oversees patient care; delivers direct nursing services to clients. Demonstrates leadership capabilities and is proficient in Charge Nurse responsibilities. Possesses a comprehensive understanding of Mental Health and Addictions nursing, along with knowledge of Psychotropic medications.

Essential Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program; valid licensure as a registered professional nurse in Florida. CPR certification is required. A minimum of one year of experience as an RN in an acute care environment is essential.

Desirable Qualifications:
Experience in Mental Health Nursing with both Adults and Adolescents.

Key Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Exhibits strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in basic EMR (Electronic Medical Record) operations. Detail-oriented with effective problem-solving abilities. Demonstrates leadership skills in guiding a team. Knowledgeable in Psychotropic Medications.

Core Responsibilities:


Conducts Nursing Assessments and monitors the health of Adults/Adolescents. Obtains and inputs orders into EMR from attending/on-call physicians. Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician efficiently and effectively.

Assesses clients' nursing needs; formulates and maintains Treatment Plans.

Provides direction to Behavioral Health Technicians in addressing the nursing needs of clients.


Coordinates staff assignments for patient care and documentation. Effectively leads the team in delivering patient care as the unit Charge Nurse. Actively engages in Peer Review (PI) processes and shares relevant information with staff.

Monitors the use of seclusion and restraint to ensure appropriate patient care and documentation.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
The noise level may be elevated in certain patient care areas. The role involves walking, sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently throughout work hours. Frequent interruptions are expected.

Engagement with clients, residents, family members, personnel, visitors, and government agencies is a regular part of the role within a behavioral health and addictions context.

The employee may be required to lift, pull, push, or move up to 50 pounds regularly. Effective verbal communication is essential.

$32.50 - $48.76
