Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Join Arka Service as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer and be part of our Defense Systems Assembly Group. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with high precision electrical products and be at the front line of our semiconductor device fabrication process.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical guidance and foster a rigorous technical discipline to meet the requirements of high value aerospace parts.
  • Apply lean techniques to support operational excellence, program execution, and the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Oversight of equipment, including working with equipment operators and maintenance personnel in support of equipment performance and operating documentation.
  • Support capital acquisition planning.
  • Plan, monitor, and troubleshoot manufacturing operations related to circuit cards, mechanical, and electro-optical assemblies.
  • Review and approve product designs and drawings for manufacturability and identify tooling and fixture requirements.
  • Design, review, and approve tooling and fixtures and develop the processes for using them.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions and manufacturing process documentation.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes are capable of meeting approved design requirements and revise or develop new processes as required.
  • Work in a cross-functional team and develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, with a concentration in Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in electric or mechanical engineering assembly.
  • Planning, monitoring, and troubleshooting manufacturing operations related to circuit cards, mechanical, and electro-optical assemblies.
  • Reviewing and approving product designs and drawings for manufacturability and identifying tooling and fixture requirements.
  • Designing, reviewing, and approving tooling and fixtures and developing the processes for using them.
  • Developing and maintaining work instructions and manufacturing process documentation.
  • Understanding of facility and assembly process development, including capacity planning and project management.
  • Self-disciplined, with the ability to lead problem-solving teams and drive results through the implementation of standard work, process certification, and other root-cause corrective action tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and escalate issues as required.
  • Familiarity with IPC J-Standard (IPC J-STD-001) and NASA Standards (NASA-STD 8739.x).
  • Able to interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Knowledge of CAD and working with 3D models.
  • Understanding of common measurement and inspection equipment, such as torque wrenches, multimeters, calipers, micrometers, feeler gauges, thread gauges, CMM's, etc.
  • Basic understanding of general machining processes and capabilities.
  • Strong prioritization and organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining a high degree of flexibility.
  • Well-versed in MS Office Suite, with Word and Excel required.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
  • ACE, Six Sigma, and/or equivalent management system experience.
  • PTC Creo Parametric experience.
  • Experience interfacing with a ERP system.
  • Experience with paperless manufacturing systems.
  • Experience with laser or optical sensing systems.
  • Experience with CCA board design and fabrication.
  • Experience with Cabling or Harness fabrication.
