Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain comprehensive records of all pharmacy transactions to ensure precise control and accountability for all medications in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Guarantee the lawful operation of the pharmacy, fulfilling all inspection and regulatory requirements as mandated by state and federal laws.
  • Oversee medication orders, verify prescriptions, and address any billing discrepancies.
  • Package medications, conduct final reviews of packaged drugs, and manage delivery preparations.
  • Keep accurate and detailed logs of all prescription transactions.
  • Respond to pharmaceutical inquiries from patients and staff; monitor the storage, distribution, and usage of pharmaceuticals.
  • Provide daily oversight of professional and support staff within the pharmacy, including training, assigning responsibilities, and contributing to performance evaluations.
  • Uphold professional standards and adhere to policies and procedures of the long-term care facility, along with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members to prepare for inspections, surveys, and accreditations.
  • Plan and coordinate departmental activities, develop policies, and address the administrative needs of the Pharmacy Department.
  • Prepare budget estimates for the department.
  • Directly supervise staff pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
Qualifications:
  • Preferred experience of three to five years in a pharmacy setting.
  • Must be a Registered Pharmacist in the state of Minnesota.
  • Knowledgeable in inventory management, prescription compounding, pharmaceutical chemistry, and relevant laws and regulations.
  • Familiarity with prescription medication dispensing operations.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Ability to present a positive and professional image to colleagues and supervisors.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time-management abilities and adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and capability to meet deadlines.
  • Able to thrive in a collaborative work environment while also working independently.
  • Competent in reading and interpreting scientific and technical literature, financial documents, and legal texts.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical principles.
Shifts will be scheduled between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with rotating weekend responsibilities. Flexibility in hours and willingness to coordinate schedules among the pharmacy team is essential.
