Job Summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist III to join our team. As a valued member of our Respiratory Care team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform various basic and advanced respiratory procedures, including intubation, arterial puncture, and blood gas analysis.
  • Manage mechanical ventilators for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients in various areas, including Surgical, Medical, Burn, Pediatric, Neonatal, Cardiac Surgery, and Anesthesia Post-Op Intensive Care Units.
  • Work under the supervision of the Director and/or Associate Director(s) of the Department to ensure the highest level of patient care.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective patient care plans.
  • Provide education and support to patients, families, and the public on respiratory care and related topics.
Requirements
  • Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
  • Certificate of completion from an approved therapist-level Respiratory Therapy Program.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
  • Current NYS Therapist License.
  • 0-1 year of experience in respiratory therapy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
