As a Compeer Program Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with chronic mental illness by providing phone support, facilitating events, and promoting the Compeer program within the Cabarrus community.

Responsibilities:

* Provide phone support and regular calls to Compeer friends and volunteers who need assistance.
* Assist in the planning for and implementation of Compeer events.
* Attend and facilitate Compeer presentations and outreach within the Cabarrus community.
* Attend Cabarrus County community events to help spread awareness of the Compeer program and other MHA services.
* Assist with completing annual Compeer Inc. survey of friends and volunteers.
* Maintain accurate records of work time, and complete necessary paperwork for invoice/timesheet.
* Accurately document activities, phone conversations, community contacts, etc.
* Adhere to all policies and procedures of MHA.

Requirements:

* Must have a strong knowledge of local Cabarrus County neighborhoods, community resources and services.
* Must be able to work collaboratively with a team, and possess positive, effective interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions:

* Positions in this class require: standing, walking, fine dexterity, sitting, reaching, handling, climbing, vision, hearing, twisting, talking.
* Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 15 pounds occasionally or negligible weights frequently; standing some of the time.
