The Critical Care Registered Nurse delivers specialized nursing care to adult and elderly patients facing severe or potentially life-threatening conditions. This role involves collaboration with the medical team to ensure comprehensive patient management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced nursing interventions in alignment with hospital policies and objectives.
- Work alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver age-appropriate care tailored to individual patient needs.
- Execute nursing techniques that prioritize patient comfort and safety.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance care delivery.
- Prepare necessary equipment and assist physicians during patient examinations and treatments.
- Guide and mentor nursing assistants and administrative staff in patient care processes.
- Utilize critical thinking to make informed nursing decisions based on patient assessments.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Adapt to dynamic patient care environments, including potential reassignment to different units as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must meet clinical competency standards specific to Critical Care.
- Demonstrated proficiency in physical assessment skills.
- Prior experience in Critical Care settings is preferred.
- Strong understanding of EKG interpretation and related interventions.
- Completion of a specialized Critical Care course is advantageous.
- Visual and auditory capabilities must be sufficient to monitor patient conditions effectively.
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations and respond swiftly to patient changes.
- Capable of fostering collaborative relationships with colleagues.
- Basic computer literacy is required.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program recognized by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).
Licenses and Certifications:
- Current Florida Registered Nurse License.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
