Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Frontend Software Engineer to join our team at nLIGHT DEFENSE Systems, Inc. in Longmont, CO. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying software solutions to interface with and control state-of-the-art high-energy laser weapon systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and test user-interfaces for our laser systems
  • Design rigorous testing for continuous development and improvement
  • Maintain code-base and participate in merge requests
  • Work with engineers from other disciplines to support integration and test of software and firmware on systems
  • Collaborate with other software engineers to apply, improve, and document coding standards and processes
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, preferably in the defense industry
  • Experience with C#, Python, and.NET programming languages
  • Familiarity with Windows Operating System and writing software to communicate with hardware
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to integrate information from multiple sources to reach a solution
  • Experience with game development (Godot, Unity, Unreal, etc.) and full stack development
  • Familiarity with real-time hardware and electro-optical systems, including acquisition, pointing, and tracking
