Job Title: Senior RF Microwave Design Engineer

Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Senior RF Microwave Design Engineer to lead the development of innovative and cost-effective systems that support a broad range of products and business areas across the lifecycle of a program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Architect a Digital Receiver/Exciter system to meet our end goal and define interim steps to achieve it.
  • Interface between classified and unclassified teams to keep the development efforts aligned.
  • Lead the overall design and development effort.
  • Interface with the chief engineers on other programs to ensure that mutual benefit without duplication of effort.
  • Attend design reviews and weekly meetings, contributing experience and insight to ensure success on experiments.
  • Visit and coordinate with team members who work at other sites.
  • Deliver efficient and effective communication of design and architecture to hardware and software design engineers.
  • Mentor and engineers and other staff members.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline with 16 years of experience in the areas described in the job description or 14 years of experience with a Master's Degree and/or 12 years of experience with a Ph.D.
  • Experience designing, developing and/or testing radio frequency (RF) and/or microwave antenna systems and/or related RF hardware.
  • Significant knowledge of Receiver/Exciter technology.
  • Experience with Digital Controls.
  • Active Interim Secret or higher clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience using MATLAB.
  • Experience with RF Subsystems.
