Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior RF Microwave Design Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our Electrical Design and Analysis (EDA) section, you will be responsible for designing, modeling, and verifying RF/microwave and mixed signal circuit card assemblies (CCAs) for our cutting-edge space platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop RF/microwave and mixed signal CCAs, including digital receiver/exciters, using industry-standard tools such as ANSYS HFSS/Maxwell, CST Microwave, and Keysight ADS.
  • Manage RF budgets, frequency planning, and common assembly level interfaces to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Predict assembly level performance through selecting materials, components, and packaging approaches, and utilizing RF chain analysis, electromagnetic simulation, data collection, and analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate FPGA/Digital controls on the bench and implement digital beamforming.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable STEM degree, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience (3+ years with MS degree; or PhD).
  • Proficient in RF/Microwave and mixed signal circuit design, schematic capture, and PWB/board layout.
  • Completed and/or led multiple board designs from schematic capture to board release.
  • Experience in test and troubleshooting complex mixed signal CCAs.
  • Ability to provide solutions to a broad variety of RF/Microwave design and test-related problems of complex difficulty.
  • Expert proficiency with industry-standard RF/Microwave modeling, simulation, and printed circuit board design tools.
  • US Citizenship is required, and ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active Top Secret / SCI security clearance.
  • Experience in Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA), signal integrity analysis, and high-speed digital circuit design.
  • Familiarity with Point of Load (PoL) design, ceramic and organic printed circuit board materials, and integrated circuit packaging techniques.
  • Experience in designing for high reliability, space requirements, and environments, as well as AESA/phased array, Radar, SIGINT, or SATCOM experience.
