Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic call plan to engage both existing and potential customers for order solicitation.
- Provide accurate pricing and credit terms, and prepare sales agreements for secured orders.
- Collaborate with sales teams to ensure product availability and timely delivery.
- Maximize profitability through effective management of customer accounts and prospective leads.
- Track all sales activities within the territory and report on any lost sales or rental opportunities.
- Negotiate and finalize equipment sales to ensure profitability while enhancing market share in the region.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of product offerings and marketing initiatives to represent the company effectively.
- Build and sustain strong working relationships with clients through various communication channels to exceed their expectations.
- Foster effective collaboration within the Riggs organization and with the client base.
- Engage in ongoing training and education regarding the equipment product lines offered by Riggs.
- Ensure long-term customer satisfaction through consistent follow-up and support.
- Participate in trade shows to promote Riggs products and services.
Qualifications:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret information effectively.
- Proficient in collaborative problem-solving and managing challenging customer interactions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly in various situations.
- Demonstrated ability to present to groups and engage in team meetings.
- Goal-oriented with a track record of overcoming obstacles and achieving ambitious targets.
- Willingness to take calculated risks to reach objectives.
- Respect for cultural diversity and commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace.
- Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) preferred, but relevant experience may be considered.
- 1-5 years of sales experience, particularly in the Caterpillar or competitor sectors, with a focus on in-person sales.
- Ability to interpret technical documents and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
- Competence in performing calculations related to sales transactions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow instructions in various formats.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
Work Environment:
This position involves regular outdoor activities and may require overnight travel. Employees must be capable of lifting up to 25 lbs occasionally and 10 lbs frequently. The work environment may include exposure to varying weather conditions and moderate noise levels.
This role is classified as safety-sensitive, and the job description may evolve based on organizational needs.
Compensation:
Base salary plus commission. Non-exempt position.
