JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Messaging & Collaboration, the Senior Product Owner for Exchange and Email Security is tasked with the design, execution, upkeep, and enhancement of the Exchange and Email Security infrastructure. This role collaborates closely with IT teams, security experts, and business stakeholders to guarantee the reliability, security, and scalability of the Exchange and Email Security ecosystem. The Senior Product Owner fosters robust partnerships across business, technology, and product leadership to deploy innovative solutions within the Exchange and Email Security domain. Acting as the product champion and subject matter authority, they serve as the primary resource for timely updates to internal and, where relevant, external stakeholders. The position engages in an agile methodology through regular standups, planning sessions, and processes. Success in this role demands strong leadership and strategic capabilities, along with a keen understanding of the contemporary Exchange Online and Email Security landscape. Furthermore, the ideal candidate actively interacts with the broader technology community and vendors to remain informed about industry innovations that enhance product offerings and internal practices.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Required:

  • 6 years of experience in IT, business, management operations, or a related professional field, including:
    • 5+ years of experience with Exchange Online and Exchange Online Protection (Defender) policy design and implementation.
    • 5+ years of experience with Email Security Gateways and mail flow integration/management.
    • 5+ years of experience with SMTP Relay services (both Hosted and On-Premise).
    • 3+ years of experience designing and supporting solutions based on Office365 and other Collaboration Services.

Preferred:

  • 4+ years of demonstrated experience in Product Management and/or Strategy.
  • Proven ability to lead, influence, and collaborate effectively in a matrix-managed environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences, including executives and business stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to define product roadmaps and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Microsoft Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate (Exchange Online Support Engineer).
  • 5+ years of experience managing third-party and contract labor.
  • Experience in product management leading or managing platforms within a large, global organization.
  • Ability to navigate complex user and technical discussions, architectures, and dependent solutions.
  • Experience with Design Thinking and SAFE Agile methodologies.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

  • Lead a cross-functional agile delivery team responsible for architecting, designing, and managing the delivery of Exchange Online, Exchange Online Protection (Defender), and SMTP Relay services.
  • Establish product roadmaps, multi-year plans, and user stories.
  • Manage risks, remediation plans, and other security-related activities for responsible platforms.
  • Act as the primary contact for the delivery of Exchange Online, Exchange Online Protection (Defender), and SMTP Relay services.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of capabilities and emerging technologies to ensure optimal platforms for end-user experience monitoring and remote control.
  • Collaborate with key partners and vendors to align on roadmaps, use cases, capabilities, and product offerings.
  • Utilize Agile SAFE and Design Thinking to empathize and define requirements, and evaluate them against an app strategy and roadmap.
  • Prototype with engineering partners and vendors to deliver on the app strategy and roadmap.
  • Own the backlog, team management, and delivery of responsible platforms.
  • Advocate for the end user by developing a deep understanding of their needs through research and feedback.
  • Regularly meet with security, stakeholders, and other teams to gather work statuses, discuss obstacles, and provide guidance to ensure timely and budget-compliant deliverables.
