Swim Instructor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Swim Instructor to join our team at Hopedale Medical Complex. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for providing swim lessons to children of all levels and abilities, teaching them the basic strokes of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke, and elementary backstroke.
Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality swim lessons to participants of all ages and ability levels, using developmentally appropriate and effective techniques.
- Assess and evaluate students' progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to help them improve their swimming skills.
- Ensure the safety of participants at all times, responding promptly and appropriately in emergency situations.
- Collaborate with other aquatics staff to develop and implement optimal strategies for teaching and behavior management.
- Lead group and private swimming lessons, adapting your teaching style to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Recommend and implement policies and procedures related to aquatics, ensuring compliance with Hopedale Medical Complex and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, lesson plans, and participant progress, providing regular updates to management.
- CPR/AED certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or current enrollment in secondary school.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, members, and HMC personnel.
- Knowledge of swimming techniques, including front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, butterfly, sidestroke, and elementary backstroke.
- Analytical skills to break down complex movements into parts and organize into a logical instructional sequence.
- Creativity to improvise and innovate new ways of explaining, demonstrating, and coaching to improve quality of teaching and learning.
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with occasional exposure to infectious materials, contagious diseases, bodily excretions, and hazardous materials. You must be able to walk, stand, kneel, and swim for 100% of work time, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds for 10% of the workday.
CompensationThe hourly wage for this position is $25.
