About the Job

Hopedale Medical Complex is seeking a highly skilled Swim Instructor to join our team at the Hopedale Wellness Center. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for providing swim lessons to children of all levels and abilities, teaching them the basic strokes of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke, and elementary backstroke.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement swim lessons for pre-school to school-age children
  • Ensure the safety of participants and parents/legal guardians
  • Collaborate with other aquatics staff to develop optimal strategies for teaching and behavior management
  • Lead group and private swimming lessons to participants of all ages and ability levels
  • Recommend, implement, and communicate policies and procedures related to aquatics within the Wellness Center
Requirements
  • Background in swimming or life guarding
  • CPR/AED certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, members, and HMC personnel
  • Knowledge of swimming techniques and ability to demonstrate them
Working Conditions

The Swim Instructor will work in a general Wellness Center environment with occasional exposure to infectious material, contagious disease, bodily excretions, and hazardous material. The ability to walk, stand, kneel, and swim for 100% of work time and lift & carry up to fifty pounds for 10% throughout the workday is required.

Compensation

The hourly wage for this position is $25.
