Job Title: Diesel Technician Senior Mechanic

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Technician Senior Mechanic to join our team at Ryder System in Morrisville, North Carolina. As a Senior Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing complex repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, as well as providing technical guidance and support to other technicians.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including oil changes, brake and tire work, and diagnostics and repairs of complex mechanical and electronic problems.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other technicians, including coaching and mentoring.
  • Interact with customers and drivers to determine the nature of complaints and provide solutions.
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available.
  • Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred.
  • Basic tools required.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
  • Four years or more relevant work experience preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred.
  • All other certification as required by location.
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to perform all T3 tasks.
  • Must have demonstrated advanced analytical and repair skills in vehicle maintenance.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must have basic computer skills, including PC, Windows, and mouse.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be available to work shift work/weekends and on-call duty as required.
