Job Title: Diesel Technician Senior Mechanic

Ryder System is seeking a highly skilled Diesel Technician Senior Mechanic to join our team in Morrisville, North Carolina. As a Senior Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing complex repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, as well as providing technical guidance and support to junior technicians.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on diesel engines, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems with minimal support
  • Utilize diagnostic computers and software to troubleshoot and repair issues
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians
  • Perform remote triage to assist with roadside breakdowns
  • Interact with customers and drivers to determine the nature of complaints
  • Coach and mentor junior technicians to improve their skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Four years or more relevant work experience preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
  • All other certifications as required by location
