About the Role:

The Account Manager - Employee Benefits will play a critical role in assisting the Benefits Consultant in the day-to-day needs of our clients. This position will bridge the gap between the typical functions of a Consultant Support Specialist or Internal Service Representative and the Benefits Consultant in the analysis of clients' benefit plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In coordination with the Benefits Analyst or Consultant Support Specialist, utilize the planning calendar and renewal timeline to ensure timely handling of census requests, client follow-up, carrier follow-up, sending RFPs, preparing presentations, and other necessary items.
  • In coordination with the Benefits Consultant, direct the Benefits Analyst or Consultant Support Specialist in the preparation of spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and contribution scenarios to display and communicate appropriate information for presentation to clients and employees based on the BC's recommendations.
  • Assist clients with escalated claims, billing, and/or policy issues, documenting all in Benefit Point.
  • Assist the BC in analysis and research of ongoing plan evaluations, reviewing all client renewals with the BC to check for appropriateness and assisting in the recommendation process.
  • Attend client meetings with the BC to establish a working relationship with the client, conducting employee benefit educational meetings for clients.
  • Under the direction of the Benefits Consultant, ensure that the implementation and transition processes for all carrier changes are handled smoothly with minimal disruption, communicating and documenting major issues and changes.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in employee benefits, including plan designs, available riders, legislation, and emerging trends, sharing this knowledge with clients and others at HUB.
  • Keep the team informed and communicate thoroughly and clearly with all team members concerning client issues, renewals, and proactive work, positively influencing team members and promoting engagement.
  • Act as a client advocate with carriers and vendors, always having the client's best interest at heart.
  • In coordination with the Benefits Analyst or Consultant Support Specialist, update and maintain documentation of renewal plan information in Agencyware, client files as changes are implemented, spreadsheet templates, policy digests, and hospital grids.
  • Act as a mentor for the Benefits Analyst or Consultant Support Specialist, assisting in their growth and development through constant communication and instruction.

Requirements:

  • College degree preferred.
  • A working knowledge of employee benefit plans, understanding HMOs, PPOs, HSAs, indemnity plans, as well as ancillary coverage such as life, disability, dental, and voluntary insurances is preferred.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office products, with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Previous experience in benefits, finance, or human resources is preferred.
  • An earned Georgia Life and Health license is required.
